A walk in the park
June 8, 2011
Today I decided to try and combine Theo and my walking. I took the little man to South Park in Fuquay which has a nice playground and track. Theo is familiar with the playground and sprinted to the slide. I stood around evaluating whether I could walk the track and still keep an eye on him while the ladies meeting continued under the pavilion. Finally I decided that I could not walk the track while Theo played. But eventually he came over to the shade in the pavilion and followed me around the tables. So I left the pavilion and walked to the track. Theo followed. He hung out under the bleachers a little while and then began to follow me on the track. Break through. However half way around the track at the farthest place from my truck, Theo got tired. He threw a little fit and then walked up to me. I took a step or two and he showed his irritation. I took a step, Theo protested. So I picked him up and carried his eighty-five pounds the rest of the way. By this time a guy from the Section 8 housing caught up with us and we walked together until I reached my truck. We chatted a little but all I could understand was the word ‘hot.’ That it was.
